What you can do
Instead of clicking through your dashboard, you can just ask. A few examples:- Create new merch — “Create a t-shirt with this design” (the assistant walks you through uploading artwork, picking products, and previewing the result — no minimums required)
- Products & inventory — “Hide the black hoodie from my store,” “Add the tour tee to my Fall 2026 collection.”
- Orders — “Show me today’s orders,” “What’s the status of order #1042?”, “List donations from the last week.”
- Promotions — “Create a SUMMER20 promo code for 20% off,” “Deactivate the BLACKFRIDAY discount.”
Prefer to connect from a code editor or another MCP client? Fourthwall also offers a developer-facing MCP server at
https://mcp.fourthwall.com — see the MCP Server guide.Built-in Fourthwall UI
The app doesn’t just reply with text — it renders real Fourthwall interface right inside the conversation, so you can see and act on your shop without switching tabs. Depending on what you ask, results come back as visible components such as:- Product cards and galleries — browse products, catalog items, and recommendations with images, prices, and details
- Live design previews — see your artwork mocked up on real products before you publish
- Tables — scan orders, promotions, and reports at a glance
- Quick-pick and upload widgets — choose colors, sizes, and products, or upload artwork directly in the chat
Before you start
You’ll need a Fourthwall shop and an account with either ChatGPT or Claude to get started. The Fourthwall app itself is free, but the two assistants differ on plan requirements:- Claude — works on any plan, including the free tier.
- ChatGPT — requires a paid plan (Plus, Pro, or Business). On a free ChatGPT account the app won’t run: even if you mention @Fourthwall in your prompt, ChatGPT ignores the mention and never invokes the app.
Connect your shop
- ChatGPT
- Claude
Fourthwall is available in the ChatGPT app directory.
- Open the Fourthwall app in ChatGPT and connect it.
- Sign in with your Fourthwall account — or create a new one — and authorize ChatGPT to access it.
- If you run multiple shops on one account, pick which shop to use.
Start a conversation
Open a new chat and ask for what you want. To make merch from your own artwork, attach your logo to the message and ask:“Create some merch with my logo.”No artwork yet? Send two prompts in a row — have the assistant generate artwork first, then turn it into products:
- “Design a bold retro band logo for my tour.”
- “Create some merch from that artwork.”
Tips for getting the best results
- Review before you confirm. Any action that changes your shop shows a preview in the chat first — double-check the details before confirming.
- Upload artwork right in the chat. When you ask to create merch, an in-chat upload widget opens. Use its upload button rather than pasting images into the message.
- Iterate on previews. When creating merch, the assistant renders previews against your artwork — keep asking for tweaks (“try it on a heavyweight hoodie,” “show me a mockup in black”) until you’re ready to publish.
Disconnecting or reconnecting
You can disconnect at any time from the app or connector settings in ChatGPT or Claude. Your shop data isn’t deleted — you’re just revoking the assistant’s access. If you’re ever told your Fourthwall session expired, reconnect from the same settings to refresh the connection.Frequently asked questions
